The English Language Education Study Program manages an integrated program of bachelor, masters’, and doctorate degrees in English Language Education. The three Programs are concerned with the English Language Education. The Programs are under the management of Study Programs that support the implementation of all activities in a credible, accountable, transparent, responsible and fair manner.

The Bachelor Program in English Language Education (BP-ELE) was established in 1964 as a response to the demand of the country of qualified teachers of English mainly at secondary schools. In response to the national and global needs and demands in English language education, the program has extended its target and provided the country with qualified secondary schools teachers of English as well as primary schools teachers of English. This program aims to prepare qualified teacher who are competent to teach, educate, advise, facilitate, mentor, evaluate and develop teaching and learning independently according to the level required by national competencies and international professional standards.

The Masters’ Program in English Language Education (MP-ELE) was established in 1998. This program aims to prepare qualified teachers, educators, and practitioners who are competent to demonstrate mastery on the philosophy of science related to learning, language, literacy as the basis for the development of pedagogy of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in accordance with the planning, methodology, and assessment of English learning to suit learner’s characteristics. They are advanced to analyze, synthesize, apply and demonstrate responsibility to manage and develop various research methods with multi-transdisciplinary approaches and contribute to produce in either oral or written form and effectively communicate research and social services recognised nationally and internationally by utilizing technology and science adaptively to suit the needs of the research and social services.

The Doctorate Program in English Language Education (BP-ELE) was established in 2010. This program aims to prepare qualified teachers, educators, and practitioners who are competent to demonstrate mastery on the philosophy of science related to learning, language, literacy as the basis for the development of pedagogy of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in accordance with the planning, methodology, and assessment of English learning to suit learner’s characteristics. They are expert to analyze, synthesize, apply and demonstrate responsibility to manage and develop various research methods with multi-transdisciplinary approaches and contribute to produce in either oral or written form and effectively communicate research and social services recognised nationally and internationally by utilizing technology and science adaptively to suit the needs of the research and social services.
